Moments

from the past

are precious

specimens.

Yet, like mold

they eventually

fester

and spoil

swollen mounds of dough

prepared to rise

and break

tomorrow’s fast.

To avoid this you must

chop the gooey dead toxins

off as best you can whenever found.

Calmly return to your kitchen

isle (shhh—stop crying)

and continue

to Bake,

just

fine.

With glasses

of dry Pinot

or Christ

always sitting

inches be-side.
