aftermath - Mary Elliott

Silence comes,

After the storm,

Creeping –

Looks around,

Assessing damage,

What can be done?

To take it back,

The steel tipped fears,

Of ginned-up crowds,

Who ask for a truth,

They can't discern.

Because fear,

Is shouting so loud?
