Lost Girls - Taylor Marie Graham

Digging holes in the town hall

Phantom birds flying through the atmosphere

Soft strands among the trees

Awake among the flames

hot breath in your dreams

A thick fog hides the smoke

Women wash red linens

in the cold of the lake

Feet caught in the undertow

In the roots of the willow tree

grow teeth and finger nails

Unearth the smell of dirt

In the flames. In the waves. In the sky. In the earth.

Where do our lost girls go?
