Patterns - Kristen Barker

Yesterday's

worn out words expect to be resuscitated.

Stale habits,

continue,

a pattern holds.

Today,

rousing strength to drive change.

Yet this time,

the bed swallows me whole.

A sluggish victim engulfed,

I remain.

Kristen Barker is a new writer, and although she enjoys writing mainly children's poetry with a lighthearted and humorous attitude, she has a serious, introspective side. Her degree in Communications is from The Ohio State University. Kristen enjoys many outdoor activities including biking, walking, slack-lining, frisbee, etc.
