Started Young - Maria Zuccarini

I am so many things that I often forget So much beauty I that I often miss It is sad truly How I only see the beauty In everyone but me The mirror is not my friend, she does not like me at all Ever since I was small and smashed her sister up against a wall Like her, her sister was cruel and she would rip me apart From inches away she would tear out my heart Well I am older now and my reflection I still fear I thought as you age all of your fears disappeared? Well I am older now but I’m still so unsure Because I am still a fragile girl who’s so insecure.

A writer from Jackson, Missouri, Maria Zuccarini has loved writing all her life and has previously been published in poetry. In her free time she can be found eating Goldfish Crackers cuddling with her cat.
